Because in the classroom Miss Gates said how wrong it is for Hitler to be prejudice, and then outside the courthouse Scout heard her say how it is good that someone in the black community is learning a lesson. She didn't get how she could be prejudice against the black community then criticise Hitler.

It doesn't so muck irk Scout as it does spark a curiosity in her as to what Miss Gates meant. However, when she confronts Jem to ask him about it, he about blew a fuse.
