You do not push any buttons! Once you collect the seven chaos emeralds with Team Sonic, you unlock the "Last" Team. In this story, you discover that Metal Sonic has copied all four of the Teams' special abilities and used them to become a giant metal monster, Metal Madness! Using Teams Rose, Chaotix, and Dark (in that order) you weaken Metal Madness to a point where he transforms yet again, this time into a flying version of himself, Metal Overlord. This is where you take control of Team Sonic and, using the power of the seven chaos emerlads, Sonic turns into Super Sonic and super charges Tails and Knuckles! I don't want to spoil anything for people who haven't beaten the game yet so I won't tell you what happens after that. If, however, you are asking if you can become Super Sonic in a regular action stage, (for example Ocean Palace) no you cannot. You can find a complete walkthrough on the "Last" story by simply searching for "Sonic Heroes" on Wikipedia, then using one of the links they give you.
