Sperm cells and egg cells
The main categories of reproduction are sexual and asexual. Two types of reproduction are asexual and sexual reproduction.
sperm and egg
The two processes involved in sexual reproduction are meiosis and fertilization. Meiosis is the process by which specialized cells (gametes) are created with half the number of chromosomes, while fertilization is the union of two gametes to form a zygote with a complete set of chromosomes.
Conjugation is a primitive form of sexual reproduction in bacteria where genetic material is transferred between two cells through a bridge-like structure called pilus. This allows for genetic diversity and the exchange of beneficial traits between bacterial cells.
Pili are plasma membrane extensions that serve to allow joining of bacterial cells so that exchange of DNA between cells may occur, thus bringing about sexual reproduction.
The two animal sex cells are called sperm and eggs. Sperm are the male reproductive cells, while eggs (or ova) are the female reproductive cells. Together, these cells are involved in sexual reproduction, where the sperm fertilizes the egg to form a zygote.
Sperm and egg cells are the two cells involved in fertilization of animals and humans.
2 are involved in sexual reproduction, 1 is involved in asexual reproduction
When two diploid cells or sperm and egg cells meet.
Sexual as opposed to asexual. The type of reproduction when two sex cells, usually an egg and sperm come together is known as sexual reproduction.
Sexual reproduction is one of the two basic processes by which organisms reproduce, asexual reproduction being the other. Sexual reproduction takes two, a female and a male, each of whom contributes a gamete, the egg and the sperm, which unite to create a zygote containing the genetic information from both parents.
