There was a convergence of circumstances and events that contributed to the dramatic introduction and rapid spread of early Christianity. Two of the major events that come immediately to mind:
1) The outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2).
The significance is not just in what happened, but also in when it happened. Pentecost was one of the "pilgrimage" feasts of the Jews; those who were able came to Jerusalem from far and wide. Therefore, as Acts 2:5 says, there were devout Jews "from every nation under heaven" present to hear the gospel of Christ preached for the first time.
Within days, the gospel message had garnered thousands of believers (Acts 2:41; 4:4). Many of these would have returned to their faraway homes bearing the message and aiding its spread.
2) The outbreak of "a great persecution" (Acts 8).
After the stoning of Stephen (Acts 7), Saul of Tarsus (later to become the Apostle Paul) spearheaded a campaign of deadly persecution against the church (Acts 8:3) that caused many believers to flee Jerusalem and scatter into the surrounding regions. As they went, they too bore the good news.
Acts 8:4 - Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word.
More could certainly be mentioned; these two are suggested in particular as contributing to the rapid growth of the infant church.
What two events made it possible for Christianity to grow rapidly?1. The Edict of Milan came into being.2. Theodosius I made it the official religion of the Roman Empire.
The birth of Jesus, the beginning of John the Baptist's ministry, Jesus' ministry, and the crucifixion of Jesus, all eventually led to the spread of Christianity. Christianity spread rapidly once it was made the official religion of the Roman Empire in the year, 380.
There are so many historical figures and events in Christianity. Martin Luther and the protestant reformation are notable in the history of Christianity.

The prepositional phrase is "with fundraising events" and the object is events.
"with fund-raising events."
"In the sentence "to select a worthy charity" is the prepositional phrase.
to help with fund-raising events
Both events were examples of Christianity's unifying effects in Europe.
In terms of historical events, that would be Bethlehem and Jerusalem.
