The Sun neither collapses nor explodes, because of the precise balance between the inward force of gravity and the outward forces of radiation and pressure.

It really depends on your way of looking.

If you are looking for a religious answer its probably the(e) God(s)

But if your looking for a scientific answer, there are MANY theories. The one i think makes the most sense is the gravitation around the planets and the movements of them forcing the stars to 'form' shapes. Remember this came from the ancient Romans, so consolations also depend on your artistic look.
