The Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean are generally accepted as the two oceans that border Australia.

However, as far as the Australian authorities are concerned, the Southern Ocean, which surrounds Antarctica, reaches to Australia's southern shores. There remains some dispute as to whether the Southern Ocean does touch Australia's shores, and the boundaries have not yet been officially agreed upon.

The Atlantic and Arctic Oceans. Depending on how it is defined, the Southern Ocean is also generally considered to not touch the Australian continent. Instead, it is usually demarcated to a circular boundary around Antarctica.
