Iceland
Iceland. It was formed by the divergent boundary between the North American and Eurasian plates.
The North American & the Eurasian
New Zealand, Iceland, Japan and Indonesia (strictly speaking an archipelago nation) and some caribbean islands all lie on geological fault lines where two or more tectonic plates meet.
Iceland sit on top of a divergent plate boundary.-Dayshia L.
Iceland sits atop two plates, the Eurasian Plate and the North American Plate, also referred to as the Mid Atlantic Ridge.
The island of Iceland is situated at the join between two tectonic plates. These joints between plates are the places where volcanoes occur throughout the world as liquid rock (magma) can easily seep up between the plates causing volcanic activity.
Grimsvötn volcano is located in Iceland, which is the setting between two divergent oceanic plates (european and north american) takes place. In fact Iceland technically sists between these two plates where the north atlantic rige reaches above sea level. Grímsvötn is a part of the Grímsvötn-Laki volcanic system and erupts every 5-10 years, being the most active volcano in Iceland today.
mainly on tectonic plates, such as, Iceland
two tectonic plates meet usually at mid ocean ridges (eg Iceland) and at destructive plate boundaries (eg Japan).
convergent
Eyjafjallajokull is located in Iceland on the Mid-Atlantic-Ridge which separates the North American and Eurasian plates.
