The most fundamental threat to Puritan social order was the challenge to their strict religious beliefs and moral codes. This could manifest through dissenting opinions, alternative religious practices, or moral transgressions that undermined the cohesion and control that the Puritan leaders sought to maintain.

One of the most representative writers of the American Puritans is Anne Bradstreet. She was one of the first published poets in America and her work reflects the strict religious beliefs and values of the Puritan society in which she lived. Her poems often address themes of faith, mortality, and the struggles of human existence.
Puritan children were most likely encouraged to participate in religious activities, such as attending church services and studying the Bible. Education was also emphasized, particularly for learning to read scripture, leading to a focus on reading and writing. Additionally, they were expected to engage in chores and community work, reflecting the Puritan values of hard work and moral discipline. Leisure activities were generally limited and often framed within a religious context.
The Puritan doctrine included acceptance of most indulgences such eating plentifully, drinking, and other unsavory practices. However, religious dissent was not tolerated. Puritan doctrine essentially stated that one could reasonably enjoy life as long as that person affirmed belief in God and did not question their theocracy.
The Puritans regarded unconfined democracy as an aberration. To them only the most substantial, respectable, and reliable Christians were considered worthy to build up a community essentially religious in design.
Massachusetts. The Puritan leaders of Massachusetts were intolerant of those who opposed or did not follow Puritan ways. Non-Puritans, for example, were denied the right to vote. The leaders of Massachusetts dealt with religious dissidents in a number of ways. Some, like Roger Williams or Anne Hutchinson, were banished from the colony. Others, such as Quaker missionaries, were hanged.

Still value religious freedom
Puritan classrooms were small. In most cases, the Puritan classrooms were also used for other reasons, such as holding church preachings and court hearings.
The Vatican has no industry or agriculture. It sells some religious items and souvenirs but most are produced elsewhere.
