It depends on which angle you veiw the sun from. It can be counterclockwise or clockwise. Remember in space motion is relative to another object. Assuming you look at the earth from the sun, the earth is moving. If you look at the earth from the moon the earth will seem like its just rotating in place.

But in general the earth is NOT moving in any particular direction.

The Earth spins on its axis which gives us our period of day and night. Our Earth orbits around the Sun, and tilting of the axis (north-pole and south-pole) gives us our seasons of Spring, Summer Autumn and Winter.
