If he isn’t holding any of his plates, he’s a Normal-type. If he is holding a plate, then it depends on which plate you gave him. For example, a Splash Plate will make him a Water-type. A Mind Plate will make him a Psychic-type. So on and so forth. You can find these plates distributed around the map and underground. If another Pokémon holds one of Arceus‘ plates, note that the Pokémon will not change types like Arceus, but any moves matching the plate type will have its power boosted.
