All you need is an ethernet input on your laptop and a ethernet cable. Run the cable from the router output to the laptop input. Most wireless routers also include ethernet outputs in the back of the router. The laptop should discover the connection
Any ethernet cable will work. I suggest monoprice.com for cheap cables, but retailers like Bestbuy, or newegg.com might have one.
You don't - you'll need an Ethernet card for your computer. A regular voice/fax modem is different than a high-speed/network connection, so you need a different 'card' (with a socket that will match your cable). If you can't find a socket that your Ethernet cable fits, then you don't have an Ethernet card installed!
That will be sufficient, but to save money, consider an ethernet cable. It may be a bit messier, but I think you will find this option more affordable.
The "F" connector is the most common type that is used on RG6 cable. This is the universal connector for home use of RG6 with antennas, CATV, satellite, and consumer electronics.
No the first part of the connection process on the PS3 searches for an ethernet connection, once it does not find one it then searches for a wireless connection
If you want to buy a cable connector, then you can buy one at stores such as Radioshack, Best Buy, Target, or even Walmart. You might even find one online at eBay or Amazon.

Find a Broadband or DSL internet provider or if you already have one and are already using it connect a router to your modem. Then simple connect an ethernet cable from your modem to your router and one from your router to your PS3. The cable that was going from the modem to your computer now goes from your router to your computer. If you are not using the internet service before then just connect th ethernet cable from your new modem to the PS3. Then if you do get a computer just buy the router and the ethernet cables then.
First obtain an Ethernet Cord. Plug the cord into your laptop in the Ethernet Connector. The head of the cord should click when you insert it in. Next find the same port on your WIFI router. You are now connected to the World Wide Web.
The ethernet cable should come from a modem or router. The plug for you PC is likely the one that would go to the router or modem from your PC. Just as the PS3 has the ability to be either Wired or WiFi so do some computers and that is why they have a spot for an ethernet cable. The PS3 has Network setting that can be switched to allow you to have a wireless connection or a wired connection, but not to have both. The wired connection provides the best connection for the PS3 because the connection can not be lost as with a WiFi connection. You will also find when running the connection test for the PS3 better speeds for the wired connection.
hi you will find a cable connector under the driver's seat.. just unplug it :)
