In the novel 'Werewolves of London' by Brian Stablesford, the werewolves had a lineal matrilogical society.
Since werewolves are ficticious, they do not fit into any genus. However sometimes I do wonder about my cousins family.

Werewolves sometimes, All lycans, has an element. It goes with what type of werewolf you are. Ex: Water lilly = water = Forest = mountain wolf. all lycans have this, but some werewolves are not a spesific type of wolf wich cuts the line.
