Cold Front (:
WARM
warmer, less dense air
In the front and pointing upwards
This is a cold front. The warm air is forced upwards by the cold air wedging underneath, often forming a narrow line of heavy precipitation.
A cold front forms. The warm, moist air, which is less dense, gets forced upwards. As it rises it cools and the moisture in it condenses. This results in rain and possibly thunderstorms.
