Pierre-Auguste Renoir was considered as an "impressionist" painter. "Impressionism" was the art of large, visible brush strokes that didn't mix, but were laid side by side.
His father was a tailor, his mother did not work outside their home
Mainly in Paris and some villages along the Seine.
He was one of the impressionists and worked as a professional painter from 1862 until his death in 1919.
After a visit to Italy in 1881, where he saw works by Raphael, his work became less impressionistic. In his last years he was crippled by arthritis, which very much affected his work
Frédéric Bazille let him use his studio in 1862. There he worked with Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Bazille and Alfred Sisley.
We cannot know. At some point in the 1860s he was dissatisfied with his earlier works and destroyed most of them.Renoir's father was called Leonard Renoir, and was a 'modest artisan' (a tailor) in Limoges who struggled to find stable work. Leonard moved the Renoir family to Paris when Pierre-Auguste was four years old...I know little about his mother.
He was either 38 or 39 when he started it and did his last work on it he was 44 or 45 According to wikipedia Pierre-Auguste Renoir was born in 1841. Two women with Umbrellas was painted in 1879, making him 38 years old and Umbrellas was painted in 1883 making him 42 years old.
Renoir lived 1841 - 1919. He painted from his early teens.
