What type of cable to use for data transfer from desktop to laptop can not be wireless?

If it's just a direct connection from your laptop and pc, you need a CROSSOVER cable. Otherwise consider getting a USB pen drive if the data isn't that big. It plugs into your USB port and is very portable and also pretty cheap.
