Loose cotton clothes, easy to wear, at the workplace pants and shirt were the main clothing. In rural areas dhotis and kurtas were main clothing. Regionwise Lungis, Pajamas, were the outfit. Mainly all the clothing was made up of cotton fabrics. Ladies wore Sarees, 9 yards & 6 yards, 9 yard sarees are popularly known as KASHTA SAREES, which are easy to wear with complete privacy even in public. In those days horse was the main source of transport, and riding the horse or cycle is much comfortable in kashta saree. Young girls wore sharara, known as parkar-polke, or peticot-blouse.
