Your sounds drivers are not installed. Find out the manufacturer of your card, and download the drivers. It might be listed in the Device Manager. Check the Device Manager to see if there are other drivers that you missed as well. START - CONTROL PANEL - SYSTEM - Go the the TAB on the top labeled HARDWARE - Click the buttom DEVICE MANAGER. Any devices in conflict, without drivers, or any other problems will be listed with a yellow explanation point to the left of it.
Windows Vista will not list the motherboard in the Device Manager. Other tools, such as CPU-Z, can display this information.
