What type of disease causes heart disease?
No disease causes heart disease. Heart disease takes place when there is an abnormality in the heart.
There are several causes of heart attack. Some of the common causes include coronary heart disease, (previous) heart attack, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary heart disease and angina. Factors such as poor diet, lack of exercise, obesity and smoking. A spasm coronary artery can also lead to a heart attack. Hope this helps.
Coronary heart disease, cardiomyopathy (a range of causes, such as hypertensive, ischaemic, alcoholic, valvular, etc), cardiovascular disease, ischaemic heart disease, heart failure, hypertensive heart disease (such as left ventricular hypertrophy, congestive heart failure, etc), inflammatory heart disease (such as endocarditis, myocarditis, inflammatory cardiomegaly), and valvular heart disease.
