The overhead projector was invented in the 1960's.
Due to the bright bulb, the 3M 2000 overhead projector can use a substantial amount of power and is not, unfortunately, Energy Star rated.
The projector can reach a pretty high temperature if left on for a while. So I think the main danger of an overhead projector is simply the heat. ;)
Yes, but you will not be able to see or use the 3D effect.
A head projector is used to project(this means show) text on computer sheet on a wall so it becomes bigger. You can use it for -watching movies -coping work -look at photos ect.

My guess is that with LCD and DLP projector coming down in price, we will be seeing less and less of the overhead. When a video projector is used with an interactive whiteboard or tablet the possibilities are limitless.
