The manual says use 10W40. If this is not available a 15W40 or a 20W50 will do fine.
The thing to be careful of are the oils desgined for cars contain numerous additives that are bad for bikes, 'high-milage' oils will place unwanted chemicals in your engine and lead to clutch-slippage and other problems.
Rather get a motorcycle specific oil, or get one that you know is additive free.
Also, change it more often than the manual says, rather do it every 3000 or 4000kms, depending how hard you ride. Be sure to put in an extra 200ml when you change the oil filter.
Please can you provide me with the type of motor oil used in a Suzuki JR50 and how much do you put in the engine

The 1980 Suzuki 550 motor holds three quarts of oil. The manufacturer recommends that you never overfill the motor oil.
20/50 any brand, but go with the major brands
The manual say 20w40 but I use 10w40 normal motor oil with any trouble.
how low does oil level have to be before oil light activates on a Suzuki 70 horsepower outboard motor
You should use Suzuki's 10W 40, but it is safe to use another brand of 10w 40 as long as it is a motorcycle motor oil. You will need an oil with wet clutch protection.
