how to Change oil on a Briggs and Stratton 6.75 HP
The 14.5 hp ohv Briggs & Stratten engines require a 0.30 in gap
try .030 unless it is an Intek OHV and then 0.020"
0.004" would be correct. See the YouTube link attached below for the procedure.
You can adjust the valves on your 17 horsepower Briggs and Stratton engine by turning the adjustment screws. The adjustments screws will determine how much fuel goes into the piston chamber.
You do not state if it is a single or a twin (which it could be of either at that HP) so links to each below:
There is not such conversion of displacement to HP. You have what is basically a 17 cu. in engine and that would seem to be and 8 to 10 HP engine in an OHV configuration.
If the engine is OHV Intek with an RC12YC long-reach plug it is 0.020" If it is a valve in block with a 1/2" reach plug it is 0.030"
Good question! I don't find any oil filter or mount for one on my Briggs 15 horse OHV
