Some plants in freshwater biomes can be: Water lilies, Lily pads, kelp, algae and other water dwelling plants.
Some plants adapted to living in the ocean may be able to survive in a lake, but not all. The difference in salinity levels between ocean water and freshwater in a lake can affect a plant's ability to thrive. Additionally, factors like nutrient availability and temperature differences can also impact a plant's ability to transition from ocean to lake environments.
None. No bear lives in Lake Superior.
Plants and algae can produce a slimy substance in a lake. Blue-green algae is the most dangerous type of algae for a lake to have because it can produce toxins.
Lake Taupo is one of my favourite places in NZ. It has formed inside a caldera. The caldera, was created by a super volcanic eruption about 26,500 years ago. The Lake itself has a surface area of surface area of 616 square kilometres it is is the largest freshwater lake by surface area in Oceania. It is up to 190 metres deep so it must have been formed from a large eruption indeed. The Lake is fed from the south side by Waitahanui River, the Tongariro River which run off the higher ground around the active volcanos Mts Ruapeheu and Tongariro. The Lake has great fishing and it's possible to go skiing on the mountain, visit the surrounding hot pools and then catch a rainbow trout on the Lake many of our customers have done this and say it is a unique experience.
