Judging from your question, I am sure you're a first year AD NSA student at ITT-Tech are you not? lol. There can be a port expander for nearly all types of port slots. If you have only 4 or 6 onboard USB slots and need more than that, you can get a cord-driven USB hub to house more. If you only have one FireWire port, no worries, they can be daisy-chained to make up to iirc 172 total FW port devices. Only one DVI? No problem, a splitter is the same as a expander. Any device that makes more than one access where only one existed before is an expander. A KVM switch makes one keyboard and mouse and speaker setup work with more than one computer at a time. Handy for servers and offices that the IT Director has a lot of work with inept staff and not alot of time or room to make face appearances in the other offices.
