The aug fires a 5.56 nato round.
The Steyr AUG fires the 5.56x45 cartridge.
That depends on the type of weapon used to fire it !
the AUG is better. the previous answer was made by a man who researched them but i have more experience with them. i am a personal owner of both. although the Famas is newer and has more modes of fire. the AUG is more accurate. the famas's accuracy suffers at over 100 yards while a coffee cup is an easy target for the AUG at the same range. the Famas also requires more maitenance than the AUG. the Famas requires a replacement for the firing pin every 20,000 shots. the AUG only requires a replacement for it every 50,000 shots. it also has a higher rate of fire and maintains long distance accuracy for every shot of its 60 round extended Magazine. the AUG wins hands down
Some AUG assault rifles can be modified to be smaller and fire a smaller caliber of bullet, but these are not true submachine guns.
"Misfire" means that you pull the trigger on a gun but the round does not fire. It applies to any type of firearm.
