A dermatologist is a medical doctor with a specialty in dermatology. Therefore, it would take four years for The Bachelor's degree with completion of all the prerequisite coursework, and four years of medical school. There will also be an additional three or more years to complete the internship and residency requirements.
You will have to do the normal four years of college to get your basic bacheolors degree. Then you will need to attend a specialized school for dermatology and then you will need to work at a dermatological office.
12 years after high school-4 years of undergraduate college for a bachelor's degree, followed by 4 years of medical school and lastly 4 years of a post-graduate medical residency program. You need to take the MCAT and have prerequisites completed to get into med school, an once you're in you need to pass your USMLE board exams (step 1 and 2) and apply for derm residencies. Derm residency programs are very competitive and hard to get into, once you get accepted it's 4 more years of residency. The upside is that you get paid in residency, the downside is the average med school graduate has $180000+ of student loan debt. All that said: it's totally worth it!!!
To become a dermatologist, a 4-year undergraduate degree is required, then a 4-year medical degree. After that, you would do a residence in dermatology, but that would not be taken at university.
If you mean how long do you have to be in school, you'll need a 4-year bachelor's degree, plus four years of medical school, plus residency in the specialty.
