Excellent communication and assessment skills are needed, along with empathy, plus the discipline to complete the requisite pre-med and medical coursework, as well as pediatric residency training.

In the U.S. you have to go through medical school first to become a pediatrician. So whatever the prerequisites are to get into med school are the prerequisites to become a pediatrician.

Becoming a pediatrician takes a lot of education and training. You have to go through medical school to become a doctor, then go through a residency in pediatrics, and pass a state licensing exam as a physician. Then you would need to become certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

sorry, this might not help.. but, if you have a school in mind you should call them and they will have a plan for you and you can look that over. Often times, schools even have them on their webpage. Good Luck!! I hope you become a pediatrician soon!!
