Violins are usually categorised by the type of wood that was used to create it. there's a roth violin, there's a German Violin, there's a Stradivarious (in my opinion i don't think that's a type), there's a french violin (that's the type I currently have), There's the Suzuki violin, there are electric violins, there's baroque which is any violin that was used during the baroque period, and i hoped that helped!
You can play about any genre of music on them. I play bluegrass, celtic, and classical. That is why the violin is my favorite instrument. You could play rap, jazz, or country too! the violin plays lots of diffrent types of music, so it doesn't have a pacific type of music. like any other instrument, but i think classic music. it's very rare you hear hip-hop or something like that on a violin.
Every violin maker mkes their violins differently. Depending on the type of wood, the action on the strings, the shape of the body, the placement of the f holes, etc, the sound will be different. Stradivarious violins are really well made, and have perfected the style over the years to make perfect violins.
I'm sure violins could end up playing with all sorts of instruments; however, I think the most common ensembles a violin plays in are with the cello, bass, and viola. Quintets with 2 violins, a viola, a cello, and a bass are quite ordinary. Quartets with 2 violins, a viola, and a cello are also widespread. Duets and trios can be found for almost any type of instrumentation if you look in a music store…

There are three types of bass: bass drums, electric base (a type of electric guitar), and the regular that looks like a cello. They can all be used in every type of music. Any instrument can be used in any type of music. On my guitar I play techno, hip hop, rock, heavy metal, Christmas, classical and any other type of music. there are heavy metal bands that use violas and violins. I have heard…
The saying is that, " Fiddles dance while violins sing". The only real difference in fiddling and playing the violin is the type of music that is played. Some people would add "technique", but both require an ability to get around the instrument well. There are players of all abilites that play both styles. Usually we think of fiddling as playing traditional or folk style music.
