Pandolce, pandoro, panettone, panforte, pangiallo, and panpepato are Italian breads which are eaten at Christmas. They respectively assume the forms of:

  • Genova's "sweet bread" of candied fruits and spices;
  • Verona's powdered sugar-dusted "golden bread";
  • Milan's dome-shaped, sweet "big bread" of candied citrus peels and raisins;
  • Siena's "strong bread" of cinnamon, cloves, coriander, honey, and white pepper;
  • Rome's "yellow bread" of candied fruits, dried apricot and plum kernels, lime peels, nuts, raisins, and spices;
  • Ferrara's "spiced gingerbread" of candied fruits, Dark Chocolate, cinnamon, cloves, honey, nutmeg, and nuts.
Their respective pronunciations will be "pan-DOL-tchey," "pan-DO-ro," "PA-net-TO-ney," pan-FOR-te," "pan-DJAL-lo," and "PAN-pey-PA-to" in Italian.
