Cellular respiration does what to glucose?

Cellular respiration breaks down glucose in order to make energy (ATP).

glucose

Oxygen and glucose make what?

Carbondioxide and water by respiration

What do mitochondria break down to produce energy?

In aerobic respiration, mitochondria break down oxygen and glucose to make energy, and also make carbon dioxide and water. In anaerobic respiration, they only use Glucose to make energy and also make lactic acid.

Why photosynthesis and respiration important?

Photosynthesis is the process in which green plants make their own food... i.e. glucose. When they do not have light they cannot perform photosynthesis so they must use respiration to make their energy. Respiration is the process of breaking down glucose to extract energy. Animals use respiration as their only means of getting energy.

What substances are removed during respiration?

This is the equation for respiration: glucose + oxygen -> water + carbon dioxide + ENERGY Glucose and oxygen are used to make water, carbon dioxide and energy. So I suppose it could be said that oxygen and glucose are removed

Where do plants get glucose and oxygen needed for respiration?

Glucose they make from photosynthesis oxygen is made as a waste product for photosynthesis

What happens durring cellular respiration?

Cells make a form of energy called glucose

The process by which cells withdraw energy from glucose is called?

It is False..... if you were doing a review and reinforce for a middle school homework assignment and you needed to change the word to make it true ... you would make it respiration

Why do plant cells need to do cellular respiration if they can make ATP from sunlight?

Plants make ATP through cellular respiration. Photosynthesis, which requires sunlight, does not make ATP - but glucose - which is then converted to ATP by cellular respiration. Therefore plants still need respiration to make ATP.
