The US is one of the 3 remaining countries that still use Imperial (old British) units to measure distance. They therefore uses feet, inches and miles. The rest of the world uses the international standard decimal units relating to the Metre.
There are MANY units used to measure distances both in Metric and in English types. We use Feet and Yards to measure distances in the US. The academic field often uses metric units like meters and kilometers to measure distances. For larger or massive distances there are the units of miles (English) and Kilomiters (Metric) and then in space we have the Astonomical Unit (Distance from earth to Sun) and the Light Year for the biggest distances. And there are the smaller measures of inches and millimeters.
Meters, or kilometers, depending on the distance. yards, or miles, depending on the distance.
it means what's the unit you use to measure distance or length.Eg, you have a piece of string and you want to measure it. You take the ruler and you simply measure it. Then you say the length of the string is X inches, or X feet. Here the inch and feet are units of length.Outside the US, the standard unit for length is meters. US uses both the metric and the imperial system. So in the US the standard unit for length could be yards, feet, inch, etc.
because they want to use it so easy why do you go to another website in this website you can see your question ok so easy ask me a GOOD question and i answer you GOOD too☺☻♥♦♣♠•◘○
First of all, you would only use these units if you lived in a place which used obsolete units - the US. Then, the answer depends on why you wish to measure it. If for estimating the cost of carpeting, using feet would be appropriate but if you were the carpet fitter, you may wish to use inches.

miles or kilometers
The US has their own way of measuring things, I guess, and there really isn't an explanation for it.
It enables us to measure things.
This variation is typically small for solids and liquids but much greater for gases.
A light year is the distance that light travels in a year. We use it because it allows us to measure huge distances.
The answer here us weight. The gram is the International system of units (SI) designated unit for weight.

You can't. 'Minutes' are used to measure time or 60ths of a degree, but 'miles' are used to measure length or distance. The two units are used to measure completely different quantities, they have different physical units, and neither one can be converted into the other one. If they could, then you'd be able to tell us how many miles old you are.
800 pounds
It is 186.000 miles per hour using measurement units which are used mainly in the US. In miles per second, this is the speed of light in vacuum. Although the English (technically the British) do use miles to measure distance, the speed of light is a scientific measure and the British would use kilometres per second as the appropriate measurement units.
