To achieve a high F on the trumpet, you need to press down the first valve only. This lowers the pitch by a whole step, allowing you to play an F when combined with the open fingering. Playing a high F requires good embouchure control and air support to produce a clear and resonant sound. Practice long tones and lip slurs to improve your ability to play high notes on the trumpet.

If on an F horn, you finger D flat with the first and second valves.
If you want to play a low D, you press all the 3 main buttons round the front of the saxophone and the 3 large one where your right hand goes. If you want to play a high D you do the same but with the register key. :) x
