a king or queen would hold a medieval banquet at their castle or house
At the banquet, a selection of fine wines would likely have been served, as they were a staple of celebratory occasions in many cultures. Depending on the region, guests might also have enjoyed mead, a fermented honey beverage, or ale, which was popular in medieval feasts. For non-alcoholic options, fruit juices or spiced waters could have been available to accommodate all attendees.

In medieval times, big restaurants would serve a variety of dishes. Some popular ones included roasted meats such as beef, pork, and game birds like swan and peacock. Fish and seafood were also commonly served, as well as vegetables like cabbage, carrots, and onions. Bread, cheese, and fruits like apples and pears were often included in the meals as well.
They would eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and sit on couches. Pita bread would also be served with a sort of sauce on it. Joshua Asmah
Many medieval peasants starved. However, during the medieval era the church served as a large social organization. It would have tried to feed the starving masses and move them to a different area where there was food and work.
