irony is the main tool, which was used by Mark Twain in his novel"huck finn".one of the simpliest examples is when huck tries to smoke, miss watson says "ooo huck. dont smoke.it is bad for health", but she for herself smokes.huck also has no desire to be civilized while everyone in his society wants him to study. the breedinessand foolishnessof king and duke are also examples of irony

One example of irony in "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" is Huck's moral growth throughout the story despite his society viewing him as uncivilized. Another example is the contrast between the civilized society, which promotes slavery and cruelty, and the "uncivilized" characters like Jim who show kindness and humanity. Twain uses irony to challenge societal norms and expose hypocrisies.

While staying with Buck, Huck attends church. Both the Shepherdsons and the Grangers go to the same church, so one family stays on one side of the church, and the other side sits on the other, guns ready in case the other side starts something. The sermon was about brotherhood, and after the services were over, the minister was congratulated on the sermon- but neither side had paid any attention to it. Being in the feud was far more important to the families, than being Christian. The irony is that they went to church, pretended to be Christian, and clearly thought they were Christian- but the need to murder came first. This part of the book was based on two real feuding families in the area of Compromise Landing, KY, which, if you chart Huck's travels, is about where he'd be at this point in the book.

Huckleberry Finn is full of satire and irony including pap being angry at Huck for going to school. Huck allows a slave to escape yet chides himself for his sinful ways.
