Hebrews 9:27, "And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment." All men will die with the possible exception of those in the rapture. The important thing to remember is that all men will face judgment.

For those who are in Christ they will stand before the "Bema" and be judged and either loose rewards or be given rewards for the bad/good things they have done ( II Corinthians 5:9--10; I Corinthians 3:9-15).

(Christians have been judged already for sinful things in their life and have been forgiven. The judgment for Christians are based on what good or bad things were done in their earthly ministry. Whether it was done for Christ or for self).

For the people who do not have Christ they will stand before God at the "Great White Throne and be judged and being not found in the Lamb's book of life they will be sent to the "Lake of Fire" (Revelation 20:11-15).

The Bible states that mourning and suffering will last for awhile while on Earth. Grieving and death will be no more once a person dies and goes to Heaven to be with God.

Another answer:

The Bible is the "revealed" Word of God that speaks to the servants of God who "believe" what His Words say. Of grieving and death, God says to His servants:

"And now, brothers and sisters, I want you to know what will happen to the Christians who have died so you will not be full of sorrow like people who have no Hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to Life again, we also believe that when Jesus comes, God will bring back with Jesus all the Christians who have died." (I Thess.4:13-14 NLT New Living Translation)

William's New Testament [WNT]: "Also we don't want you to have any misunderstanding, brothers, about those who are falling asleep, so as to keep you from grieving over them as others do who have no Hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, then through Jesus, God will bring back with Him those who have fallen asleep."

Weymouth's New Testament [WEY]: "Now, concerning those who from time to time pass away, we would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, lest you should mourn as others do who have no Hope. For if we believe that Jesus has died and risen again, we also believe that, through Jesus, God will bring with Him those who shall have passed away."

"A good reputation is more valuable than the most expensive perfume. In the same way, the day you die is better than the day you are born. It is better to spend your time at funerals than at festivals. For you are going to die, and you should think about it while there is still time. Sorrow is better than laughter, for sadness has a refining influence on us. A wise person thinks much about death, while the fool thinks only about having a good time now." (Eccle.7:1-4 NLT)

Matthew Henry:

"...It will do more good to go to a funeral than to a feast. We may lawfully go to both, as there is occasion; our Saviour both feasted at the wedding of his friend in Cana, and wept at the grave of His friend in Bethany. But, considering how apt we are to be vain and indulge the flesh, it is best to go to the house of mourning, to learn the end of man as to this world. Seriousness is better than mirth and jollity. That is best for us which is best for our souls, though it be unpleasing to sense..." (Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary: Ecclesiastes 7:1-6; The benefit of a good name; of death above life; of sorrow above vain mirth)
