The vertebrae are the bones in the vertabral column of backbone that protects the spinal chord and suppots the body. The notochord on the other hand is a mesodermal strucutre of the foetus. It stimulates the induction and differntiation of many hings including the basal plate of the neural tube.
A sandskrit word shakra means wheel in the mystycal physiology of yoga shakras are at the wheels center or knots of psychic forces situated all along the vertabral column and in parts of the body such as the head chest and the groin area their function is to maintain the communication between the cosmos and the and the person and are the salient points of the subtle body
There are Five different types of Vertebrae in the Vertabral collumn (spine).1) Cervical Vertebrae (7)2) Thoracic Vertebrae (12)3) Lumbar Vertebrae (5)4) Sacral Vertebrae (5)5) Coccygeal Vertebrae (3)
Parents may have many concerns about their children's health but often overlook their children's spinal health. Regular well-child visits to a pediatrician, a yearly eye exam and dental visits are all scheduled on a routine basis to monitor a child's health, yet regular spinal evaluations by a licensed chiropractor are a rarity in most cases. Correct spinal alignment is critical for a child's growth and development. A misaligned spine hinders the communications from' the brain, traveling down the spine, though the nerves and finally to the remainder of the body. Some children are born with spinal issues that may not cause pain or other health issues until much later in their lives; however a child's spine can become misaligned in a variety of ways. The process of birth is demanding on infants and a difficult birth can twist and pull the spine from the correct position. Toddlers take plenty of spills and falls; even those that are intentional may push the spine out of alignment. School age children are carrying heavier book bags every day, placing undue stress on their impressionable spines. Above all of these reasons for children having a subluxation, a misalignment of the spine, is today's lifestyle. Children are not as active as they once were, many spending hours bending over video games, cell phones, on laptops and watching television. This position straightens the arc of life, the natural curve of the neck. Many problems can be contributed to vertabral subluxation. In very young children, frequent ear infections are common and can often be resolved by realigning the spine and jaw, allowing for proper drainage. More and more school aged children suffer from reoccurring headaches. These headaches are often caused by the stress placed on their spines because of heavy book bags and improper posture during the school day. Even children with autism have seen positive results while under regular chiropractic care. Other childhood aliments and conditions have been found to be lessened or cleared completely from maintaining proper spinal alignment. These include asthma, allergies, ADD and ADHD, scoliosis and many others. With several of these conditions, proper chiropractic care can eliminate the need for traditional medications. Monitoring the overall health of a child is essential and though oftentimes neglected, spinal health may be the most important aspect of a child's health.
