He lived from 995 to 1035 AD. He ruled England from 1016 to 1035. He famously sat on the beach and commanded the tide to turn back to demonstrate that there were powers over which even the mighty Cnut had no control.
He was the son of King Knut from Norway and was the last of the Viking Kings of England.
