I was having a 'normal' pregnancy and HCG levels rising until I started taking my prenatal vitamins. Then 4 days later, I suffered a miscarriage. I found out that my coworker also suffered a miscarriage after she had been on her prenatal vitamins for 5 days. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not.

∙ 15y agoThat alone will not CAUSE you to miscarry, but the vitamins do help slightly to prevent a miscarriage, mostly the point of the vitamins are to replenish thenutrients that are lost from morning sickness, loss of appetite, and what is being redirected to the baby. They also give the baby the right nutrients needed to properly from and be healthy after delivery.

Same thing happened to me. I bought some expensive prenatal vitamins I already had 2 miscarriages in early stage. The vitamins are actually made for individuals with MTHFR gene mutation which I suspected may be happening with me. I noticed the prenatal has high levels of vitamin A so I only took part of recommended dosage. Shortly after taking it I developed very heavy stomach, and uti feeling. Cramping then bleeding , sure enough it was a miscarriage. I've become suspicious about these prenatal vitamins. I listen to the doctors and experts but not sure why it happens after taking the prenatal. I was trying this month to possibly have another child, I tried the prenatal again, same reaction this time took only half the does recommended. I felt like maybe I wont take it and all the symptoms cleared up. Just taking a regular multivitamin. I feel fine, still waiting to see if I'm pregnant or not.
