Boar WarThe Boer War
I believe it is called the Boer War, not the Boar War, and it started when Dutch and English settlers fought over who got control of South Africa
Great Britain
Great Britain :)
Although the South Afrikaners still spoke the Dutch language, Britain pretty well controlled commerce in South Africa...until white rule disappeared altogether in the 1990s.
The Boers were Dutch settlers in what is now South Africa. When Britain laid claim to South Africa, a war started between the Boers and the British. That war is known as the Boer War. The British won.
Germany
The country that won New Amsterdam from Dutch colonists and then soon renamed it New York was Great Britain. This conflict occurred in 1664-1665 during a brief war between Great Britain and the Netherlands.
During World War 1 Great Britain possessed, among others, East Africa, Portugal and India. These colonies served as a source of supplies for the war, including soldiers.
Great Britain obtained land in Africa and the Middle East. In Africa specifically Tanganyica, part of Togoland, the Cameroons. In the Middle East specifically Syria, Palestine, Jordan, and Trans-Jordan.
