During the War of Jenkins Ear between 1739 and 1748 British troops from Georgia marched down to St. Augustine in Florida and gave siege to the Castillo DE San Marcos there for 2 weeks. the British troops were led by Oglethorpe and were repelled by the Spanish after a two week siege. later on in the war in 1742 the Spanish musterd some 2000 troops from local st. Augustine and Cuba and launched an invasion of Georgia in an attempt to seize it from the English. the Spanish attack was repelled by British forces under James Oglethorpe. the Spanish and English continued to attack one another in little border skirmishes after this until the end of the war.

Who won the battle of avannh?

I'm guessing you meant the Battle of Savannah, Georgia and have changed your question to read that way. The British won in December 1778 and captured Savannah. The British won again the next year when the Americans tried to retake Savannah. If you meant Havana, Cuba, the British also won that battle, in the French and Indian War.
