Alfred studied chemistry with Professor Nikolai Nikolaevich Zinin. When Alfred was 18, he went to the United States to study chemistry for four years and worked for a short period under John Ericsson.[1] who designed the American Civil War ironclad USS Monitor. In 1859, the factory was left to the care of the second son, Ludvig Nobel (1831-1888), who greatly improved the business. Alfred, returning to Sweden with his father after the bankruptcy of their family business, devoted himself to the study of explosives, and especially to the safe manufacture and use of nitroglycerine (discovered in 1847 by Ascanio Sobrero, one of his fellow students under Théophile-Jules Pelouze at the University of Turin)
Alfred Nobel was primarily self-taught and had a keen interest in science and literature from a young age. He studied chemical engineering in Paris and attended lectures at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Nobel also traveled extensively, gaining knowledge and experience through interaction with scientists and engineers around the world.
Alfred Nobel was educated privately by tutors in St. Petersburg, Russia, before traveling extensively throughout Europe for further education and self-study in the fields of chemistry and engineering.
Alfred Nobel attended various schools in Sweden and Russia for his education. He was taught by private tutors and later continued his studies in chemistry and engineering at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden.
The name of the school that Alfred Nobel attended was Jacobs Apologistic School in Stockholm, Sweden.
Formal assessment can be traced back to the early 1900s when educational psychologists, such as Alfred Binet and Lewis Terman, developed standardized tests to measure intelligence. These assessments evolved over time and are now commonly used in education and psychology to evaluate learning and performance.
