World War 2 actually hadn't begun in 1933. It began in 1939. And still, we didn't enter it until 1941. And that was almost entirely because the Japanese bombed pearl arbor. And we helped turn the tide when we entered easily. And basically, to the views of all the axis powers, they were just ordinary people, and the Japanese had basically just woken a sleeping giant. And while they were happy torment little kids (conquered countries and inferior religious people), we were happy to pick on the 5 axis adults and send them to the noose for their crimes. However, the reason we stayed neutral really didn't make any sense when we realized how horrible the atrocities committed by the Nazis were.
