*** First of all it's you're, not your. Secondly, Benjamin is cynical because he see's how Animal Farm is changing in a bad way. As he said before "Donkeys live a long time. None of you has ever seen a dead donkey". Which you could interpret as him saying he has a long term view on Animal Farm and doesn't see it improving, and that he's smart enough to see what's going on and because of that, he isn't dead yet.
