Franklin helped write it, worked to get funding for the war, and was an avid revolutionary. He was so much into the cause he had his own son arrested when he became a British officer in the war. Franklin also got a ship and a privateer to hunt British ships along the Atlantic coast to free American POW's onboard. The only problem was the Irish captain he hired was also looting the ships and accepting bribes for freeing the British sailors he captured. Needless to say the idea didn't work out well for Franklin. There would be no reason why he wouldn't ratify the constitution.

Three reasons why the state should ratify the constitution is: 1) A stronger government will be formed . 2) The three powers protected the rights of the people already . 3) Bill of Rights
The chief reason they objected to the Constitution was the shift from state to federal governance. The Constitution stripped away a lot of power from the states, and placed it under the Federal Government. Having just ousted one tyrannical government, they didn't want to open the door to another one,. As a result, some states were reluctant to sign.
