Octavian was Cleopatra's biggest problem. He was a different sort of Roman than she had been accustomed to dealing with. He didn't flatter her as the others did, and he certainly didn't need her money after the conquest. In fact, when he went to interview her, much to her frustration, he would not even look at her. He refuted all her excuses for her conduct and her trying to put the blame on Antony. She simply did not know how to deal with him.
