General George Gordon George Meade?

The victor of Gettysburg, arguably the battle that turned the tide of the war. He was appointed commander of the Army of the Potomac only a few days before the battle, replacing Joe Hooker, who had lost to Lee at Chancellorsville. Later, when Grant became General-in-Chief, he travelled with Meade's army, and the popular accounts of Lee's final surrender at Appomattox always seem to feature Grant but never Meade, even though Meade commanded the army to which Lee surrendered.
