Hitler believed that Germans were a master race and it was their Destiny to conquer the world
Hitler wanted jews, gypsys, homosexual and the mental and physical deformed. Also any one that wanted those who did not agree with his views out of Germany.
As the leader of Germany, Adolf Hitler implemented his facial views by promoting Nazi ideology through propaganda, indoctrination, and censorship. He used speeches, rallies, and mass media to spread anti-Semitic, nationalist, and racist beliefs. Hitler also put his views into practice by implementing policies such as the persecution of Jewish people, the suppression of political opponents, and the aggressive expansion of German territory through military conquest.
Hitler had a strongly held (but false) belief that Germany had asked for the armistice to end the First World War because it was not economically & agriculturally self-sufficient. Hitler never understood the correct reasons for Germany's defeat, or that Germany had actually been defeated militarily. This affected his views of Jews, communists, women in the workforce, working hours, public morale, etc.

Adolf Hitler lived in Berlin, Germany.
Many Germans followed Hitler because of his vision of a better Germany. Hitler's intentions, apart from the atrocities we hear of, were to make Germany the ruling power of Europe. Hitler promised jobs and food for the unemployed, a strengthening of German borders, and a strengthening of the nation. Unemployment dropped and standards of living rose for those who were not Jewish, homosexual, Jehovah's Witness, Gypsie, communist or Slav. There was more equality between the classes. Germany was flourishing. Unfortunately, as we know, Hitler also had a very dark side, especially for Jews, homosexuals, Gypsies and anyone who opposed his views. People who opposed his views included German people among others, and you are right, these people often did not voice their views, and just followed along, for fear of what would happen to them. If you were to voice your views you could be reported to the Gestapo. Children were even encouraged to report their parents to the Gestapo if they overheard them discussing opposing views to Hitler's own. Opposing views could have consequences such as "re-education" in a concentration camp, or execution.
Adolf Hitler wrote "Mein Kampf" which translates to "My Struggle." This book outlines his political ideology and beliefs, including his antisemitic views and aspirations for Germany's future. Hitler did not write any other notable books besides "Mein Kampf."
