We know from The Bible that Jesus was 12 years old , when he was lost and then found in the temple. He then appears at 30 years to be baptized by John, those years in the middle were lost. But we must remember that in those days records were not kept like today.
They are called "the silent years" because we have no record of what Jesus did then. There has been a lot of speculation, of course, but there is nothing specific written about these years in the Bible...but we might think about the normal life of Jesus as a human person. He could have been a carpenter till he was 30 years old.(Mark 6:3/Luke 3:23)
--------------------
Scripturally, the only suggestion we have about Jesus' young manhood, is located at Luke 2:41-52, where it describes 12 year old Jesus, listening to and questioning the religious leaders at the temple. Shortly after this event, the Bible says that " ...Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.."(NIV). So whatever Jesus was doing, as he grew physically, mentally and spiritually on earth, he would have been serving his God from his heart(John 20:17/Colossians 1:3), and as directed through Jewish Law of the day(Galatians 4:4), until he reached the age where he would fulfill that Law Covenant(Matthew 5:17/2 Corinthians 3:14/Colossians 2:13+14).
Additional answerWhen Jesus died, Joseph of Arimathea went to Pilate to claim His body. Under Roman law a persons' body could only be released to a next of kin. This means Joseph of Arimathea and Jesus were relatives. Some authorities say Joseph of Arimathea was Jesus' mother Mary's twin brother, but born second, and that any other sequence would result in Jesus being disqualified from the throne of David through her. In other words, that Joseph of Arimathea was Jesus' uncle. Some have speculated from this that Jesus went with his uncle Joseph of Arimathea on his shipping voyages to to Britain to buy tin from the tin mines and resell it in Jerusalem. Because it was rare and therefore expensive, Joseph of A was easily able to sell it for a good profit. Josephus tells us Joseph was a very very rich man who died a beggar because he became a follower of Jesus.
=i would say that his hidden years were probably peaceful loving and fun.=
There was no pope "during the time of Jesus." The title was not first used until about 200 years later.
