Well, Medea knew how to get revenge with style - and flames.

Her husband left her and proposed the younger Glauce, daughter of the king of Corinth. He thought it would be better for him and his children to be noble. Of course, he asked Medea to go into exile, as well.

Medea pretended not to care and sent Glauce a beautiful dress and a crown, as a wedding present. But the present was poisoned; Glauce tried the dress on and it set her body on fire. Her father, Creon, died trying to save her.

The whole palace burnt down shortly afterwards.
