The Norse religion was a Heathen based faith in a pantheon of Gods, and centered around Honor, as well as a concept of the cycle of the life. Life was not linear, but cyclic, just as the night gives way to day to give way to night again, and winter gave way to summer which gave way to winter, so was a person born, grew up, grew old, died, and was reborn in some way. And the universe itself was born, aged, will die, and be reborn again.
