What was T-Rex's family like?

Tyrannosaurus Rex was one of those which is widely believed to have taken good care of it's offspring. The female lays the eggs and watches over them long after they hatch. It is a point of contention as to whether the father helps to care for the eggs and the young rexes after hatching, or if the mother is left to do so herself. There is a theory floating around which states that it is very possible the males were solitary and territorial, more likely to kill any young T. Rexes it comes across in an effort to ensure receptivity of the mother for mating. Reguardless, the young are cared for and taught to hunt and kill by their mother until they have reached sufficient size to fend for themselves, at which point the parents leave them to do just that. There is not thought to be a bond of 'love' between mother and offspring, just an instinctual need to ensure their survival. If the mother fights off an aggressor after her children, and is unsuccessful, she would likely have no qualms about devouring the carcass of her young, seeing it as no more than an energy source to refill her own reserves after the battle.
